Preparing the frame ![]() Now the main part of the laptop and the display panel are separated. Now it is time to focus on the picture frame. ![]() This black frame was found from a local mixed goods store for a 6.50 An acrylic window, wooden frames and thick cardboard backing - just what I needed. ![]() Sandwitched between the acrylic sheet and the back board is the black framing paper. ![]() I measured the visible part of the display panel and cut the black masking paper accordingly. ![]() Panel is now placed ontop of the paper. Nothing is holding the panel in place at this stage. I didn't want to glue the panel or make any fixings to the sides so I ended up doing the following... ![]() I took the thick backing board and cut out the center piece. Size of the part to be cut was exactly the same as the panel's external dimensions. ![]() Back board installed and the panel is secured nice and tight. The images also shows the small black "claws" at the sides of the picture frame. They were bent back to their original position to hold the back board in position. |
