    Attaching the laptop

    I had to offset the laptop a bit. This is due to the fact that this museum piece uses an old PCMCIA network card and on top of that there is an adapter cable between the card and the actual RJ-45 twisted pair network cable. This gave enough room so I could hive this additional piece of hardware behind the frame.

    So, how to keep the laptop from falling off? For this I decided to make couple of brackets from acrylic. This image is actually perfect as it shows the spot where one of he hinges of the screen used to be on the laptop. This is also the place where I decided to mount my support.

    Bread cutting board and a heat gun. Professional setup... not! :)

    Few minutes later I had the bends ready...

    Mounted with regular wood screws. Be careful not to drill too deep when making the holes for the screws!

    This is actually the part that will be located at the top of the digital picture frame. There were a nice spacer between the are where the optical drive and the battery used to be so I utilized it. The acrylic piece keeps the laptop from falling over and from moving from side to side. Simple yet clever I might say... ;)
