This is called "HD555 foam mod". If you own Sennheiser HD555 I really recommend you to do this!

Is there any place to get new earpads or other spare parts for these?

I just removed those black foam pieces from the headphones. Now the speakers get more air thru the mesh which improve the sound quality.
